After looking it up in the system I informed her that while I could return it, she would only get $1.00 in store credit. But this particular dress was from 2 years earlier. I had a woman come in with a 4th of July dress that she wanted to return. I wish I could have followed up with her and found out the sex of that baby.

And she was absolutely certain that it was definitely a girl.

I get that she was excited, but there is SO much that can happen between then and 6 or 7 months (when most women register). And she registered for all girly pink items. Occasionally I would catch myself thinking "Dear lord this girl does not need to be having babies." A 15 year old girl came in and registered THE DAY she found out she was pregnant. Basically, expectant parents come in, we give them a little talk about our store and what we can offer them and then send them on their way with scanners to create their baby registry. Working at the baby registry was always a lot of fun. Stained, broken, smelly, not even the right item, covered in baby shit, I've seen it all. I lost count after about 20 times of how many customers assured me that the item they're returning was never used and was still brand new, and then seeing the look of horror in their eyes as I go to open the box and pull the item out. After that day, I was always very aware of what I was returning and making sure I wasn't being scammed. He was really cool about it and just told me that no matter what, open the box and check it out. Manager opens up the box and pulls out an obviously ancient, stained and smelly stroller that was certainly NOT what I thought I had returned. My very first week working there I was called into the managers office and was shown a pretty expensive jogging stroller box and asked if I had returned it. Some random entries about interesting/weird things I just thought of:
